A Message from Pastor Steve
Dear New Horizons Family and Friends,
As I’ve said often, serving as the Pastor of New Horizons Community Church has been one of the
greatest blessings of my life. It’s difficult to believe that we organized over a decade ago, and I have
greatly appreciated your generous support and encouragement through the years. I have always loved
being the Pastor of our church, leading our worship services, and sharing the Good News each week.
I simply can't thank you enough for your faith, grace, and kindness.
That said, as I shared last Sunday at worship, it is with a heavy heart I announce my resignation as the
Pastor of New Horizons Community Church effective April 11, 2020 (Easter weekend). This decision
is due to health and personal issues. As those of you who attend know, walking has become more and
more challenging for me in the last few years and I am also having issues with my balance. Both issues are the result of a hereditary disease that I have, and which seems to be progressing at this time. Please understand I am totally healthy otherwise and certainly in no danger, but I have simply come to the decision that I must proactively address these issues now. As a result, I am trying to create more time for myself as I reduce my work commitments and schedule. It is a difficult decision for me to make, but I also believe it is the right one.
There are three things I'd like to say in closing. First, I love and appreciate all of you who have been a part of our congregation, and please know I will continue to be 'your Pastor' in the days ahead, should you ever need me for weddings, funerals, hospital visits, or anything else. Second, this is not 'good bye'. And third, in my heart of hearts, I truly believe the Good News we talk about every Sunday. God has always provided for each of us, both in good and difficult times, and I know He will continue to in the days ahead. Always!
You are loved...
With a grateful heart,
As of March 15, 2020
New Horizons Community Church
is permanently closed.
Although New Horizons Community Church
was planning to close permanently on March 29,
we have decided to close early effectively immediately
due to the coronavirus.
Thank you for worshipping with us.
